For kids age 3 years through 4th grade. Meets Sunday mornings from 10:45-11:30am following Worship during the program year.  Children are grouped by households and are physically distanced when indoors. Masks are not required, while any child is welcomed to wear a mask at any time.  Watch for changes as the COVID situation evolves. Register for Sunday School here

VBS is held each summer for kids through 4th grade in the morning one week, from Monday through Thursday.

Milestones are the stepping stones of faith such as the Blessing of the Backpacks, Blessing of the Bibles, Communion, and Confirmation. Some Milestones occur in worship while others are educational events for all ages. Watch for Milestone Events in emails and the Zion Weekly News.

If you have any questions about CYF, or want to be added to email notifications for Children, Youth & Family Ministry activities and events, please email, or call 218-326-8553.

Registration is required for all groups listed below here. These groups meet during the school year. Watch for occasional summer events.

Meets Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:00pm, sometimes outside and sometimes in. Confirmation has happened or is being completed, and we use this as a jumping point to explore and develop our common faith. Mission trips, ELCA Youth Gathering trips, service projects, and retreats are other activities.

Meets Wednesdays following youth group at 8:00pm. Peer Ministry usually offers a weekend long training off site that teaches youth to help other youth by deepening their listening skills, picking up on body language and how to be a resource to others to get them the help they may need. Peer Ministry teaches youth to be a good Samaritan and to respond to the needs of their friends.

Meets Wednesday nights from 7:00-7:45pm. Faith formation for 7th and 8th graders who affirm their faith in the fall of their 9th grade year at a Confirmation service.

Meets Wednesday nights from 7:00-7:45pm. Fun and faith formation for 5th and 6th graders.

Monthly events through the course of the year for 5th-8th graders. They play games, have great talks, do service projects and much more all keeping Christ at the center of the fun and fellowship.

Zion Children, Youth & Family (CYF) Team

Meets monthly and is comprised of the Director of Children, Youth & Family Ministry, adult leaders, parents, and a youth representative from the Peer Ministry Team. In these meetings, financial and programmatic decisions are made concerning all areas of ministry. This team is a decision making, leadership team. If you are interested in being a member, please contact Children, Youth & Family Ministry. The meetings, however, are open to all.
